Cele kształcenia: | (tylko po angielsku) 1. Ability to carry out history-taking and neurological examination in order to recognize life-threatening conditions and make decisions about the initial diagnosis of the causes of the symptoms 2. Gaining knowledge of the frequent and significant nervous system disorders regarding epidemiology and social conditioning 3. Acquiring neurological terminology, methods used in the diagnosis of nervous system disorders and procedures used in chronic neurological diseases necessary for future cooperation with the neurologist 4. Gaining experience in communication with patients with nervous system disorders |

Efekty kształcenia: | (tylko po angielsku) E.W13. Student knows and can differentiate basic neurological syndromes. EW14. Student knows and understands the causes, symptoms, principles of diagnosing and therapeutic procedures of most common nervous system disorders: a) headaches: migraine, tension headache and headache syndromes and trigeminal neuralgia, b) vascular disorders of the brain, and in particular, cerebral stroke, c) epilepsy, d) infections of the nervous system, in particular, meningitis, Lyme disease, herpetic encephalitis, prion diseases, e) dementias, in particular, Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, dementia of vascular origin and other dementia syndromes, f) basal ganglia disorders, in particular, Parkinson’s disease, g) demyelinating diseases, in particular, multiple sclerosis, h) neuromuscular diseases, in particular, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, polyneuropathies, myopathies, myasthenia and sciatica, i) craniocerebral traumas, in particular, brain concussion |

Wymagania wstępne: | (tylko po angielsku) Passed pharmacology classes. Neurology exam can be taken after passed pharmacology exam. |

Forma i warunki zaliczenia: | (tylko po angielsku) To pass the module it is necessary to attend the lectures, seminars and practicals. Any absences need to be made up for (either by attending classes with another group, attending a medical shift or writing an essay on the topic of the missed class – the way of making up for the absence should be assigned by the course coordinator). The passing score for the end-of-year test is 60% |

Metody sprawdzania i kryteria oceny efektów kształcenia uzyskanych przez studentów: | (tylko po angielsku) A test with 50 multiple-choice questions. The minimum score required to pass the exam is 30 points (60%) The final grade depends on the number of points received at the final exam: - 30 – 33 points = 3.0 - 34 – 37 points = 3.5 - 38 – 41 points = 4.0 - 42 – 45 points = 4.5 - 46 – 50 points = 5.0 |
