Bounded rationality vs homo economicus 5. Heuristics and biases in decision making 6. Emotional and motivational factors in decision making 7. Social psychological factors in decision making 8. The process of decision making. Pre-decisional and post-decisional processes 9. Applications of decision making theories 10. Can we make better decisions? |

(tylko po angielsku) The course delivers a comprehensive approach to decision making under risk and uncertainty, from a joint perspective of psychology and economics. Classes shall cover normative decision making models, the process of decision making, as well as heuristics and biases which may or may not prevent us from making optimal decisions. Course participants shall be able to recognize problems with decision making under risk, will be familiar with violations of utility maximization and the reasons behind them, and how to reduce such violations if possible. An applied area of economic decision making will also be present. |
