Cele kształcenia:

(tylko po angielsku) Broadening student’s theoretical knowledge and honing practical skills, familiarization with the organization of work at dental surgery. The Head of dental clinic or the mentor designated by him, determines the detailed scope of responsibilities and the rotation schedule and supervises the student's work.

Forma i warunki zaliczenia:

(tylko po angielsku) Credit is granted for acquiring knowledge and skills specified in the program of clerkship and confirmed through filling out the Certificate of Summer Clerkship Completion (provided by the JU MC SME).

Wymiar, zasady i forma odbywania praktyk:

(tylko po angielsku) 4 weeks, 120 h (5 days/week, 6 h/day); can be completed over summer vacation months only (July - September).

Excused absence can be granted to the active intern only on submitting formal medical certificate. Illness longer than one week causes internship to be lengthened by the time of absence


Pełny opis: (tylko po angielsku)

I. in the scope of conservative/pediatric dentistry:

a/ carrying out basic diagnostic procedures;

b/ tartar removal;

c/ caries prophylactic procedures ;

d/ evaluation of radiograms;

II. in the scope of oral surgery:

a/ local anesthesia;

b/ performing simple tooth extraction procedures;

c/ assisting at minor surgical procedures;

III. in the scope of dental prosthetics:

a/ prosthetic assessment of oral cavity conditions with consideration to tooth loss, anatomical and functional changes and dento-maxillary abnormalities;

b/ taking impressions with the use of various impression materials;

d/ assessment of occlusion and tooth positioning;

e/ minor corrections of removable dentures;

IV. in the scope of orthodontics:

a/ assisting in orthodontic procedures;

b/ making basic photographic documentation;

c/ performing dental hygiene treatments on patients wearing orthodontic braces.

V. in the scope of medical records and reports:

a/ becoming familiar with medical records and other forms;

b/ learning reporting methods, and writing out and registering prescriptions;

VI. in the scope of organization and administration:

a/ becoming familiar with the principles of work organization in the facility;

b/ becoming familiar with the patient registration and records system;

c/ becoming familiar with methods of stocking the clinic with equipment and materials, their receipt, expenditure and inventory keeping (principles of stock keeping).
