This class will examine the genre of Science Fiction as means to better understand the broader scientific and philosophical questions of the 20th Century. At the end of the course the student should have a better grasp of both the hopes and fears that have define specific eras of the time under consideration.

The class will discuss various literature and films each week-followed by a lecture. The student will be provided a list of questions each week that will allow them to discuss the broader themes using their own cognitive skills to broaden the knowledge on the subject matter.
