Efekty kształcenia: | (tylko po angielsku) EK1: has ordered and extended knowledge of terminology used in the humanities and social sciences (K_W03 +++) EK3: has the ability to read with comprehension and critically analyse texts pertinent to European studies and has the ability to compare them to texts presenting different views on the subject, confront them and draw his or her own conclusions (K_U02 +++) EK4: has the ability to write independent and creative essays in Polish or in any foreign language (different from the language of study programme) based on a suitable selection of sources and methodological workshops; ability to write an MA thesis based on own research questions/hypotheses (K_U09 ++) EK5: has the ability to follow and critically interpret phenomena and problems in contemporary European societies with respect for European political culture and European identities (K_U16 +++) |

Forma i warunki zaliczenia: | (tylko po angielsku) There will be a written in-class exam. It will take one hour and the students will be expected to choose 2-4 from 3-6 topics on which they would write micro-essays. Weighting: 100 % of the course |

Metody sprawdzania i kryteria oceny efektów kształcenia uzyskanych przez studentów: | (tylko po angielsku) The learning outcomes will all be assessed through the process and outcome of writing the term paper, with a particular emphasis on: -ordered and extended knowledge of terminology and theoretical underpinnings of concepts discussed in the course -critical analysis, original research and conclusions - independent writing, using the appropriate referencing style - critical interpretation of phenomena. |

(tylko po angielsku) The course analyses the dynamics of collective identities in Europe in historical and contemporary perspectives. Students will get acquainted with theories of identity - sociological and anthropological approaches with elements of political science, and will learn about processes of identity construction in Europe in a broad, historical perspective, but with a special emphasis on current transformations. The background for this course is the European Civilisation course, offered in the first semester of the MA Programme in European Studies. Students are expected to have basic knowledge of European cultural and social history, with a special reference to European cultural heritage. |
