  • tygodniowy wymiar godzinowy nakładu pracy studenta wynosi 45 h;

Cele kształcenia:

(tylko po angielsku) Students will understand major trends in contemporary European cultural policy, with the special emphases of cultural programmes, projects and funds. The component will allow students to gather knowledge on current events, practical solutions applied to the cultural policy of the EU. Students will be able to get better of comprehension of processes underscoring in contemporary cultural Europe and in practical professional life of European cultural operators and stakeholders. Next to this, the course will pay special attention to the concrete implementation of particular cultural policies. The course will contribute to the development of intellectual skills and the application of knowledge. The practical skills to be learned include critical analysis of cultural European projects as a part of European cultural programmes (policies), collecting databases of the European funds dedicated to culture, case studies, partnerships and networking concepts.

Forma i warunki zaliczenia:

(tylko po angielsku) Assessment Students are expected to actively participate in the classes. Attendance is mandatory (students missing more than two classes will need to meet with the coordinator of the course and make up the missing classes). Missing more than 50% of the classes will result in failure of the course and the need to retake it the following year. Active class participation and students’ presentations will make up for the remaining 40%. The exams will take the form of presentation and it will count towards 60% of the final grade. Final presentation shall be 15 minutes long and cover the critical analysis of chosen European cultural project/ cultural project invented by the student. Content (especially structure, knowledge and understanding of the topic, evidence of research, the quality of argument), style (i.e. communication, good organisation of time, use of visual materials, maintaining interest of the group etc.).

Metody dydaktyczne:

(tylko po angielsku) The lectures are interactive in style and include discussions, presentations and exercises in participatory partnership style. Students are encouraged to ask and answer questions and creatively use the concepts and theoretical lenses learned in class. Students will also take part with the meetings (study trips) with the cultural operators who are dealing with Creative Europe programme or other the EU programmes in Krakow or in the region.

1. Lecture: The EU cultural programmes: historic overview, main goals and main requirements.

2. Seminar: Culture 2000 and Culture 2007-2013; Cultural Contact Points. Theory and practice.

3. Seminar: Creative Europe. Creative Europe Desk. Insight to Media and Culture Component.

4. Workshop: case studies of chosen EU projects (Culture 2000, Culture 200702017, Creative Europe) analysis prepared and presented by the students.

5. Lecture: Implementation of The EU’s Structural Funds into cultural sector.

6. Workshop: case studies of chosen EU projects demonstrates applying of Structural Funds in cultural sector alongside of European countries. Students presentations.

7. Study visit: Katowice: Cultural Zone: visit in Spodek Silesia Museum and National Orchestra of Polish Radio in Katowice (NOSPR).

8. Workshop: partnerships-building. Introduction to the methods of building partnerships (and team building), networks and professional mutual relations between cultural operators in Europe.

9. Practice: Letter of Intent, Letters for Cooperation Request, Project of Mutual Agreements, Recommendation Letter, Methods of Writing Professional Emails.

10. Lecture: ECOC (European Capital of Culture) programme.

11. Lecture: ECOC Krakow 2000 and Wrocław 2015.

12. Workshop: Preparatory activities to final project. Partnerships. Methods of Project Evaluation.

13. Study Visit: Krakow Festival Office: fundrasinig.
