Cele kształcenia: | (tylko po angielsku) The main of the course is to introduce students with the most important concepts, approaches and methods used in the field of foreign policy and diplomacy. The course will include sessions covering the Foreign Policy Analysis – actors, processes and arenas on which the foreign policy is conducted, history of diplomacy, modern diplomacy as a foreign policy tool. |

Efekty kształcenia: | (tylko po angielsku) LO_1 - A foundation knowledge of the status of Foreign Policy and Diplomacy in the field of political science, and its connections with other disciplines as regards subject and methodology; LO_2 - Knowledge of the basic theories of Foreign Policy and Diplomacy, and a well-ordered knowledge of the actors, developments and processes LO_3 - A foundation knowledge of the terminology pertaining to Foreign Policy and Diplomacy LO_4 - A foundation knowledge of the scope and operations of the EU Foreign Policy and its influence on the role and status of the EU in the system of international relations |

Forma i warunki zaliczenia: | (tylko po angielsku) Class participation (prerequisite) 1. Students are expected to actively participate in the classes. Attendance is mandatory. Missing more than 50% of the classes will result in failure of the course and the need to retake it the following year. 2. Students missing more than 2 classes will have to make them up by writing a paper per each class missed. The papers and corresponding topics assigned by the course tutor, will cover at least 2,000 words each (including footnotes and bibliography). 3. Students are required to present an analysis of a chosen foreign policy case study (either individually or in groups, depending in the number of students). The students may choose from the cases proposed by the teacher, or propose their own idea for the analysis. The presentation will need to be submitted in the written form as well. The final grade consists of: Students’ activeness in class (10%), presentations (45%) and written assignments (45%). Each student will be graded separately during the presentation, whereas the grade for the written assignment will be the same for the whole group that submitted the assignment. |
