Cele kształcenia:	(tylko po angielsku) To provide information about the concept of cultural awareness and related ideas and concepts such as: cultural complexities, cultural identities, stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, acculturation, integration, immigration, cross-cultural communication and intercultural interactions. To present dominant thereotical perspectives related to cultural determinants of political behaviour.
Efekty kształcenia:	(tylko po angielsku) E1: Has knowledge about complexities of cultures in the modern world and the role that cultural identities play in the context of international security and development processes E2: has knowledge about the processes of cultural transmission, and related with them concepts of socialization, enculturation and collective memory E3:has knowledge of cultural determinants of political behaviour E4: is able to identify the signiﬁcance of language and cognitive processes for security-related processes E5:is able to analyse cultural determinants of political behaviour fundamental in context of international security and development processes E6:is able to analyse the signiﬁcance of cultural identities for international security and development processes E7: Is able to participate in cultural complex environment

Students are expected to get familiar with the readings prior to the class and submit their feedback via pegaz before the class

Skrócony opis:	(tylko po angielsku) The course in cultural awareness will introduce students to the meaning and significance of culture in international relations. The students will discuss the following topics: cultural awareness and the concept of culture, the challenges connected with the cultural pluralism, stereotypes and prejudice, politics of identity, and cultural determinants of political behaviour. Thanks to the participation in the course students will gain understanding of the role that cultural identities play in the context of international security and development processes, will be able to communicate in cross-cultural context and suggest solutions based on knowledge about cultural complexities
