Cele kształcenia:

(tylko po angielsku) This course aims at presenting a wide picrure of international actrivties and efforts dedicated to the prevention and combating of terrorism. It includes strategies and policies adopted by the governments as well as multilateral initiatives pursued on the international level. Legal and cultural aspects will be associated with law-enforcement and military operations. Cyber space a new domain of counterterrorism will be highlighted, pointing out terrorist financing and propaganda. Interactive methods (an Oxford debate and a simulation) will stimulate students to a more insightful approach to practical aspects of counterterrorism policy and diplomacy.

Efekty kształcenia:

(tylko po angielsku) LO1: Has general knowledge on theoretical aspects of contemporary terrorism and counterterrorism. [K_W02+++; K_W03+]

LO2: Has knowledge on methods, concepts, tools and actions undertaken for the purposes of prevention and combating of terrorism [K_W06++; K_W09+++]

LO3: Is able to identify basic features and modes of counterterrorist activities [K_U03++; K_U05++]

LO4: Has a practical ability to work out a plausible practical response to different forms of terrorism [K_U04+++; K_U07++]


Forma i warunki zaliczenia:

(tylko po angielsku) Course passing results from partial evaluation of the following elements:

- students’ activity: 20 points

- case study: 20 points

- group project: 25 points

- final assesment: 35 points

Student is required to exceed the threshold of 55 points (in case of final assessment 55 percent of maximum points) to be awarded credits.


Metody sprawdzania i kryteria oceny efektów kształcenia uzyskanych przez studentów:

- Evaluation of quality of projects prepared for the course

- Active involvement in case studying

- Final assessment (written, open questions)

Standard grading is applied.
