Cele kształcenia:

(tylko po angielsku) Students will become acquaitained with the main theories and concepts of intercultural communication and acquire skills for decision-making and encounters.

The course facilitates students' development of intercultural communication at three levels:

1. Konowledge and practical ability to identify, analyse and relate the implications of cultural, social, institutional or political contexts for our communication between cultures and international business contexts.

2. Intercultural communication competence and capability.

3. Self-awareness about one's own intercultural communication and being-in-the-world.



Efekty kształcenia:

(tylko po angielsku) After the course students will be able:

1. understand interdependencies between culture and communication;

2. explain prototypes and stereotypes of cultures;

3. understand the dynamics in intercultural encounters in the context of communication proces;

4. understand the influences of students own socialisation on their behaviour patterns as managers and communicators.


Wymagania wstępne:

Forma i warunki zaliczenia:

(tylko po angielsku) Written examination: test questions (30 min.) plus descriptive question (30 min.).

There is a possibility of being exempted from the written exam if you receive positive grades from at least 7 thematic cases (case studies), developed in groups during the classes and subjected to a team discussion.

Metody sprawdzania i kryteria oceny efektów kształcenia uzyskanych przez studentów:

(tylko po angielsku) Lecturer's evluations and peer in-class formative feedback (oral/notes). Written examination - description and terms as above.

Working on case in groups during the classes. Positive assessment (7 cases) slows down from the written exam.

Metody dydaktyczne:

In the interconnected world the ability to communicate across diverse cultures

and contexts is of critical importance to managing culturally diverse domestic context to an international one. This course identifies the areas in which given environments are different from interacting cultures.
