(tylko po angielsku) Course objectives and learning outcomes
THE AIM OF THE MODULE IS:
-to familiarize the students with the holistic view on the information culture and its organizational and everyday information behaviour context, with the complexity and interdisciplinary domain of information culture and competences indispensable for professional and everyday life;
-to make the students aware of the necessity to systematically upgrade and to complete the knowledge, skills with particular focus on information, social, cultural, research, media and digital literacies;
-to comprehend the appropriate competencies and skills in understanding of information behaviour and individual and professional information needs;
-to develop individual information behaviour and information processes, especially activities regarding inference and solving problems in cognitive, social and affective paradigm, as well as creating new knowledge and wisdom;
-to encourage the students to formulate the objective and subjective feedback on interdisciplinary domain-specific concepts in the area of research in information culture in the context of individual and collaborative information behaviour, competences in digital environment.

IN THE SCOPE OF THE KNOWLEDGE:
• is conscious of the multidisciplinary, context, and scope of information culture and correctly uses the knowledge on the importance and role of information science in the study and implementation of best solutions of information culture and literacies in professional and everyday life,
• justifies the proposed solutions in specified case studies and research, correctly implementing information culture standards, hypothesis, tutorials, results of research, models for different users and disciplines,
• distinctly identifies main discrepancies between information culture and selected information behaviour models in normative, social and affective context,
• is aware of individual and collaborative information processes, effectiveness of personal information management processes, enhances the critical thinking skills and individual and collaborative aspect of information culture.
IN THE SCOPE OF SKILLS
• analyses and diagnoses various information processes, behaviour and skills, uses the right evaluation methods, prepares various forms of information presentation, create new knowledge with the understanding of critical thinking and intellectual freedom concept,
• efficiently perform the professional tasks and to accomplish its own projects related to information culture in normative, social and affective context,
• uses and supports measures setting high standards of quality and efficacy for individual information culture skills in professional and everyday life,
• is able to conduct the research in the context of information culture and information behaviour of individuals and target groups, propose various models, methodology and methods.
IN THE SCOPE OF SOCIAL COMPETENCIES Student:
• accepts the necessity for lifelong learning activity, acts responsibly and implements fairly individual and collaborative professional tasks in the field of interdisciplinary information literacy,
• accepts and carries out the tasks entrusted to him as part of independent and team work, with responsibility for the quality and timeliness of his tasks,
• agrees that the knowledge, understanding and improvement of information culture in normative, social and affective context are a must for any individual professional and everyday life development,
• shall endeavour to resolve the matter through discussion and understanding achievements and implementing methods of information science in solving perceived professional problems in the field of information management.

|Forma i warunki zaliczenia:||
(tylko po angielsku) Mode of delivery : The course requires the direct participation of the teacher and students, face-to-face communication. E-learning forms are available both during the course and assignments realisation.
Requirements for awarding credits and grading procedure Exam.
Final grade obtained by students is equal to the outcome of the exam.
The exam is considered as being successfully passed when the candidate has acquired at least 60% out of 100% obtainable points, which is equivalent to obtaining at least sufficient assessment.
The condition for admission to the examination is the presence and active participation in the classroom, and appropriate and timely realised tasks. Attendance
is obligatory (it is possible to miss the classes twice – one should be excused)
Exam (1st term and 2nd term).
Applies the following grading scale of assessments (1-100 point.):
The grading scheme, based on a 2 to 5 scale, is as follows:
• 0- 59 points – unsatisfactory F (2,0)
• 60-69 points– satisfactory E (3,0)
• 70-79 points– quite good D (3,5)
• 80-89 points – good C (4,0)
• 90-95 points – very good B (4,5)
• 96-100 points – excellent A (5,0)
|Metody sprawdzania i kryteria oceny efektów kształcenia uzyskanych przez studentów:||
(tylko po angielsku) Methods of learning outcomes assessment Achieving the intended learning outcomes shall be assessed on the basis of the activity in the classroom, the execution of individual and group tasks, collective forms of work and the results of the final exam. Additional criteria for evaluation are: timeliness and quality of the assignments prepared according to the requirements specified by the teacher. The primary aim is to activate the students and to complete their knowledge.
Learning outcomes assessment:
-current evaluation and possible revision of the implementation of individual tasks during routine classes and consultations outside the classes
-analysis, evaluation and possible adjustment of the teamwork at the planning stage of projects
-discussion of rating after completing tasks and presentation within laboratories,
-discussion in the course of a laboratory on the basis of the different presentation of case studies analysis, students’ webinars presentation and attendance
-execution of individual tasks, group tasks, and also associated with the exploration and understanding of information culture in normative, affective and social context,
-teamwork, that aim is the presentation of selected issues associated with expertise in the areas of information culture including the relevant information resources, methodology and research findings.
Methods of synthesis:
-examination that tests the foremost achievement of results in terms of knowledge and translating scholarly texts skills and social competencies, including the content of the laboratory and reading notes,
-evaluation of the tasks performed in the laboratories and of the manner of their implementation, including the compliance with the recommendations, compliance with the plan, and the timeliness of their implementation.

Participation in lecture and laboratories: 30 hours
Participation in the examination (along with consultation after the examination): 5 hours
Preparation for laboratories: 25 hours
Work on the realisation of the tasks performed during the laboratories: 30 hours
Reading literature notes and absorb new knowledge: 30 hours
Preparation for the exam: 25 hours,
The combined effort of the student is 145 hours, which corresponds to 5 points ECTS

• Information culture and effective individual and collaborative information management, competences and normative, social and affective information culture in PIME (personal information management effectiveness) and PIMM (personal information management motivation).
• Information culture assessment and evaluation tools, individual self-efficacy scale, acquiring new knowledge and its presentation in digital age.
