Zakres tematów: |
1. Entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) - economic and institutional conditions of starting-up a business, SMEs' input into the economy at the international, national and regional levels, regional determinants of enterprise development 2. Sources of enterprise financing – market sources of financing and funding (informal investors, debt financing, equity capital, creative sources of financing); public sources of financing (loan funds, guarantee funds, grants, public aid for entrepreneurs) 3. SME support policy – rationale, funds and measures of the European Union, evaluation of public support measures for SMEs, management of support programs, institutions of business environment (technology and science parks, business incubators, innovation relay centers, industrial associations and chambers of commerce) 4. Industrial clusters – cooperation and competition among SMEs, the impact of clusters on the competitive advantage of enterprises 5. High-technology industries and creative industries (culture, entertainment, media, engineering and design, software development); technology firms 6. Technology transfer and diffusion in SMEs 7. Regional and local development; strategies of regional and local development 8. Firm growth – determinants of firm growth, high-growth firms (gazelles) - specificity and economic importance 9. Academic entrepreneurship – establishing and developing innovative enterprises by academics 10. SME internationalization – rationale, strategies, methods, impact on the competitive advantage, firms "born global" 11. Information and consulting for SMEs 12. Metody dydaktyczne: |
Literature review Discussion Analysis of academic articles and monographs The on-going work will be based on submitting individual chapters for the review of the seminar supervisor, who provides comments and recommendations. |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
By June 29, 2019 – the elaboration of a concept of the Master's thesis (main objective, research questions/hypotheses, the structure/outline - chapters and points, research methods; please see Appendix 3) and the first chapter according to the thesis structure – the condition for obtaining a credit for the first semester of the seminar. |
