• Preparing to classes - 30 h

• Literature study – 15 h

• Preparing of presentaion – 15 h

Total student’s work – 120 hours

Facultative clinical training in pediatrics to fullfill the knowledge in kidney diseases and hypertension in childhood

The knowledge on symptoms of kidney diseases in children and teenagers

The knowledge on ethiopathology, epidemiology, clinical symptoms, diagnostics and therapy of:

-the most common kidney diseases and hypertension in children.

- the acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease

- hypertension in childhood

The knowledge on indications and methods of renal replacement therapy in pediatrics in acute and chronic states.

Improving the skills in proper history taking and phisical examination directed to kidney diseases and hypertension in children, analyzing and evaluation of clinical cases, laboratory and imaging procedures, concluding diagnoses, differential diagnostics and treatment.

Practical training on following diagostic methods:

1. Blood pressure messurements,

2. Using of Abdominal Blood Pressure Monitoring ABPM), analyzing of meassurements results,

3. Abdominal ultrasound imaging with doppler flow evaluation in renal arteries

4. Carotid arteries ultrasound examination

5. Urinary bladder cathetherasition

The knowledge on organization of work in the hospital and out-patient clinic.

Improving of cooperation in a working team.

Metody dydaktyczne: (tylko po angielsku)

Working in small groups (maximum 3 students) at patient’s bed, in diagnostics room, in ultrasound room, in the out-patients clinic.

Participation of students at round-visits and analyzing clinical cases

Presentations of imaging procedures on computer screen or ultrasound device

Presentation of patients’ laboratory results

Metody i kryteria oceniania: (tylko po angielsku)

Constant evaluation of student’s skills and behavior during classes and seminars by teaching assistant doctor.

It is expected, that student will actively participate in classes and prepare the case presentations. Student will be evaluated and graded by teaching assistant
